Resonance
A Music & Mindfulness Retreat
Five transformative nights of sound, stillness, and soulful connection – designed to help you renew your energy, reclaim your clarity, and rise into your most empowered, alive self.
February 9-14
Union WA, USA
Empowered
Tranquility
Imagine starting your year not with overwhelm, but with profound renewal.
Five nights by the water where sound baths, meditation, and nature weave together to restore your nervous system, rekindle your spark, and awaken the power that’s been waiting quietly within you.
“The Resonance Retreat with Wakes was one of the best of ANY kind of retreat I’ve experienced. It was the perfect blend of self-exploration, nurturing, rest, and connection. I arrived with an empty cup and left not only with a full one, but also with ideas and plans to better nourish myself moving forward.
As a therapist and yoga teacher, this was not my first rodeo—but this retreat was the perfect space to realign myself. The deep connections, the sound baths, the food…everything was beyond what I expected. Ada and Nathan are truly gifted musicians, guides, and space holders. I will be forever grateful.”

Come into Resonance
At the Resonance Retreat, we do a lot of resonating! Music is at the heart of our gathering. We close each day with a signature, soul-stirring, Wakes Sound Bath. But beyond that, resonance threads through the entire retreat.
When we listen deeply to music, it physically and emotionally resonates within us. Each song and sound can inspire a wave of excitement, grief, longing, or joy to wash over you. It’s a powerful experience, and when held in a space of mindfulness, it can be truly transformational.
When we walk in the beautiful forests surrounding the lodge, we notice what resonates in us as we bathe in the songs of the birds, wind, trees, and the ocean waves.
When we gather in daily workshops, we resonate with the voices of our fellow retreaters, and the thoughtful teachings Ada and Nathan share to see what comes alive in us.
When we eat together, we resonate with the incredible flavors and aromas of locally sourced ingredients, assembled with expert care by the chef.
When we move together each morning, we resonate with the wisdom and strength of our bodies to carry and direct us.
Why Resonate
Resonance is also how you navigate your life. When you feel what is yours to feel, it orients you toward what matters to you. But in the rush of daily living, we often miss the gentle stirrings of our own soulful knowing as they resonate within. The loss of sensitivity to that resonating inner knowing means the loss of the direction which might draw you closer to what really matters to you.
The Vulnerability
Instead, we often hold our deepest knowing and most innate wisdom at arms length. When you don’t listen for those subtle stirrings, you keep what is most true to you on hold. Maybe you feel like you have to take care of a few more things, make a little more money, wait until your children are a little older, or your partner is more supportive, you’re a little more healed, or your work is more stable, to really start living your truth.
It’s vulnerable to follow that knowing. It forces you to dance to the rhythm of your own drum rather than following the beat of others. There are so many good reasons to not dance to your authentic song, and there’s nothing wrong with living that life. There are intelligent reasons you’ve kept some parts of you hidden, even from yourself, but it does come with a cost. The cost is the heaviness of keeping your truth at arms length.
The Burden
It’s a lot easier to hold a heavy weight close to your body than it is at the end of an extended arm. Held at arms length, your truth is heavy, a burden and a liability that will have you tipping and tripping through your days, feeling as though you carry a nearly impossible load. Hold that same truth close to your heart, and suddenly it is a weight you can bear. It’s a weight you were made to bear. Suddenly, it feels easy.
The Invitation
If you’re tired, feeling heavy, burdened by life, worn out, or just feeling far away from the lightness you know is possible, this is your invitation to come and resonate with us.
Come feel the full depth of vibration that your knowing can have when it’s held right at your heart. Come alive with the song within you, dance to your authentic rhythm, and leave feeling empowered, lightened, and easy. Step into your authority once again, and become the author of your life.
This is the heart of the Wakes Way, and we’d love to walk it with you.
Something More
This is not just a retreat.
It’s a re-tuning. A chance to realign with your life-force, your vision, and the deeper wisdom guiding you forward.
At The Resonance Retreat you’ll step out of the noise of daily life and into an atmosphere that nourishes your body, mind, and soul.
Renewed Resonance
By the end of our time together, you’ll leave with:
- 🔥 Reclaimed energy and vitality — feel lighter, clearer, and fully recharged.
- 🌊 Emotional renewal — release what you’ve been carrying and reconnect with joy.
- 🌿 Clarity of direction — tap into your deepest wisdom to know your next right step.
- 🎶 Nervous system restoration — through daily sound baths, meditation, and rest.
- ✨ Empowered presence — return home grounded, confident, and ready to show up fully for your life.
- 💫Connection — with a supportive circle of seekers, creators, and kindred spirits.
Daily Flow
Our time together balances deep restoration with guided transformation. You’ll leave both refreshed, empowered, and equipped with practices to carry your experience home.
“Life-changing! I feel certain that the people I attended the retreat with will be friends for a lifetime. The music and vibration of the sound baths and dance parties shifted my physical energy in that I felt more free and more accepting of myself. The Wakes Resonance Retreat is the BEST retreat I’ve ever experienced (and I’ve been to several).”

Of course if you need to arrive a bit later or leave a bit early to accommodate your travels, that is okay, just inform us of your plans.
If you have extra time in your schedule to spend before or after the retreat to explore the Olympic Peninsula, it is a very unique part of the world in that it encompasses three distinct ecosystems within its boundaries: temperate rainforest, rugged coastline, and glaciated mountains. This diversity of landscapes makes Olympic National Park one of the most ecologically diverse national parks in the United States. Pretty cool!
Sacred Waters is happy to accommodate food allergies or intolerances with alternatives. We will ask for those kinds of preferences before the retreat to ensure your dietary needs are taken care of.
At Sacred Waters all meals will be provided by the on-site chef based on seasonal availability and sourced from the growers of local cooperatives. Various proteins like salmon, chicken, and pork are included in their menus, as well as protein rich alternatives like legumes and tofu for vegans and vegetarians. Take it from Jolene, “The food was absolutely phenomenal!”
If you booked a shared room, and are attending the retreat by yourself, we will thoughtfully place you in a room with a fellow 1-2 attendee(s). This is a beautiful way to make new connections and life long friends!
If you are attending the retreat with a friend or partner and want to be placed in the same room, please reach out to us at hello@wakes.life and we will be sure to place you together (subject to availability). If you booked the private room with a view or ensuite bathroom and have a partner or friend joining you, please make sure to add a 2nd deposit to your booking, or email us at hello@wakes.life to add them to your final registration.
Beds in shared rooms will be chosen in order of arrival.
Sacred Waters Center for Restoration and Retreat formed as a collaboration between St. Andrews House (run by the Episcopal Diocese of Olympia), Circles of Color, Creation Care, and Harmony Retreats of Cancer Lifeline to expand their mission of hospitality toward the cultivation of creative practices in racial and environmental justice, prayer and community.
Their shared mission is to create an inclusive community rooted in rest and renewal, where every being is affirmed, all spiritual paths are honored, and the Earth herself is our healing teacher and guide.
We will be staying in the historic St. Andrews House lodge. While Sacred Waters is an inter-spiritual community, this particular building has Christian roots. As such, please be aware that there will be Christian symbols in the retreat space, though this event is not affiliated with any church, and people of all spiritual traditions, and none, are welcome. This location has a simple and sacred feel, and has been a place of respite and contemplation for many community groups over the years. We are grateful for the spirit of hospitality and welcome they have created here.
And we deeply resonate with their current calling that states, “Sacred Waters is an affirming interspiritual call to rest and human-ecological renewal. We are at home in our common union, honoring our inherent wholeness, and unfolding together within the practice of tenderness. Guided by the great love which holds us all, the soft pulse of tree roots, and the quiet tides that move through stillness and wild spaces, we offer inclusive welcome and a warm bowl of soup, remembering that when what is hard meets what is holy, healing flows outward into the world.”
There is one private ADA accessible room with ensuite bath for those that might need it. See rooming options above. ⬆️ If it is full, please reach out as there is one other ADA accessible room we can make available.
All common and activity spaces at our venue are also ADA accessible. Most activities will be suitable as well.
If you know us, you know we love toasting over dinner and breaking into small groups to share and connect from the heart. While there will be plenty of connection, we will also build in time for silence, solitude, and rest. So have no fear if you’re an introvert!
We will have some free time scheduled for you to spend however nurtures your soul best! You can take a hike in the forest, schedule a treatment at the nearby Alderbrook Resort, walk the labyrinth, visit the grief grove (accessible by a short beautiful walk), or simply sit by the fire to read or catch up on sleep with a nap! Those feeling extra courageous can cold plunge in the Hood Canal!
As we might expect with a February gathering, Mother Nature puts us in the tail end of the winter season. That means temps are on the chilly side and the weather patterns are changeable. We will look at the forecast closer to, but you might expect high’s around 40 degrees for daytime temps. That all being said, we’re on the peninsula, so be prepared for shifting weather!
Bring a warm sweatshirt/fleece and winter/rain jacket to keep cozy and clothing layers in general are a good idea. 🧥 Probably good to bring a warm hat and some gloves 🧤🧣, especially if you want to hike. And sturdy weather proof shoes. 🥾
We will send you a list of suggested items to bring before the retreat, including reminders for weather appropriate clothing. If you are driving and would like to bring your own yoga mat, meditation cushion, or blanket, please do. We will also have options for people to share. Once you register for the retreat we will send out a questionnaire to learn more about you and also share more information to make your retreat experience the best it can possibly be.
For any additional questions don’t hesitate to email us at hello@wakes.life
